Big Spring Warm Up End of Week

The first half of this week will be cool, cloudy, and wet, but I'm pleased to share with you that warmer temperatures and nicer weather will make a very welcome comeback starting the end of this week.

Highs are expected to be 10-20 degrees above average from at least Thursday through Sunday for the entire Eastern Seaboard -- The reason: the Bermuda High. When there's a Bermuda High setup, which is most typical in the summer, there is a large ridge of high pressure usually centered near the island nation of Bermuda in the Atlantic Ocean. High pressure has a clockwise flow of wind around its center, so that draws the warm air from the south up to the north. In this occurrence, warm air from the Caribbean will travel its way, while modifying, all the way up to New England.

I'm sure you're asking yourself: What will the actual temperatures be like, and how long will this warmth last? I've got just the answer for you:

Highs from Thursday through Saturday will likely be in the 70's and potentially in the 80's on one or two days out of that time period. Then looking further out in time, it will cool down again for the first week of May, but temperatures will still be seasonably mild with highs at or above average.

Looking even further out in time for all of May, temperatures overall are more likely than not to be above average. Also, if you love the heat, this year's summer shouldn't disappoint!
