The spring forecast is always a tricky one mainly because the spring pattern features many extremes and temperature roller coasters. In terms of an overall view of the spring season, however, we are forecasting for temperatures to be above average and for precipitation to be near normal.

Temperature Forecast:

Again, above average temperatures are forecast for the season in general. In March, there are risks for waves of cold, which is typical as the wintry weather begins to end. In the warmer months of spring, it will generally be warmer than normal with more warm than cool days.

Precipitation Forecast:

Rainfall, and perhaps a little bit of snowfall in March during the cool periods, is most likely to be close to average this spring. A typical spring pattern is expected this year where a large-scale storm or two moves through every week, bringing showers and thunderstorms. There are also some indications that there may be a few more severe weather events than normal this year.
