With November just around the corner, the weather will continue to significantly change as we get into the cooler weather months. This November looks to be an interesting one because a sharp transition may occur, where we begin warm, then turn cold and snowy.

For the first half of November, it is likely to feature above average temperatures overall. In fact, the entire country is forecast to feel some late-fall warmth! Here's a look at the temperatures forecast for the Lower 48 of the U.S. during the first half of November:

In our specific temperature forecast for the area the next fifteen days, you can see that it will remain chill until about the weekend to end October. Then you will notice more high temperatures approaching 60 degrees or the upper 50's for the rest of this forecast, which is at or above average:

In terms of precipitation for the first half of November, you'll be looking at relatively dry weather for the Eastern third of the United States. This may lead to a slight increase in the drought conditions:

Now looking long-term to the second half of November, there is the potential for cooler air, which may even lead to snow. Some of the models are showing consistent dips in the jet stream over the Eastern U.S., which would lead to cooler temperatures. Because of that cold air and depending on where that dip in the jet stream or trough sets up, we could see nor'easters tracking up the coast, leading to snowfall for the area. On average, our first measurable snow does begin in November or December, so this would not be odd or rare to see snow during late November. Typically, however, light snowfall amounts occur in November. It's not until December or January when the big storms arrive:

As we get further into November, Jackson's Weather will release their winter seasonal forecast for the 2016-17 season, so stay tuned!
