Dew point is a pretty similar term as humidity. Remember that humidity or relative humidity is the amount of moisture relative to the air. Well the dew point temperature is the actual amount of moisture in the air. By looking at the dew point temperature, this gives you a better sense of how moist the air outside really is. The higher the dew point is, the higher the moisture content of the air is at any temperature. The dew point temperature is also the temperature that the air would have to cool to in order to reach saturation. This means the air isn't able to hold any more moisture. Now you know the science behind dew points.
