Getting Hot By Memorial Day Weekend

The heat is on this week after the unsettled weather ends Tuesday. Sunday through Tuesday will feature mild temperatures at times, but there will also be the chance for rain.
However, starting Wednesday, I am very excited to share that it will begin to get drier and it is going to get hot. By Memorial Day weekend, temperatures are expected to be fifteen to possibly twenty degrees above average. Check out these forecast high temperatures for the area this week:

Heights will be significantly greater than normal during the weekend as well, meaning it will be hot over the East:

Looking at the short-term and long-term forecasts by the Climate Prediction Center, they are forecasting around a 70% chance for above average temperatures Memorial Day weekend, and a 50% chance for warm temperatures during the first week of June:

The second half of this week leading to Memorial Day weekend will get us into a more typical, Summer pattern with the warmth, but also the chance for hit or miss thunderstorms late in the day. Also, it will get more humid with dew points reaching the 60's, which is sticky. Precipitation should still remain below average this week into next week:
