Blizzard Confirmed from Winter Storm Grayson

After Winter Storm Grayson dumped snow and brought very strong winds to the area on Thursday, the National Weather Service office in New York, NY released a report Saturday morning stating the locations, including Danbury and Bridgeport, that verified with blizzard conditions. First of all, I thought it was a mistake that they didn't issue a Blizzard Warning for this storm. Instead, our area was under a Winter Storm Warning, even though blizzard conditions were clearly possible.

Technically, a blizzard is defined as having frequent wind gusts of at least 35 mph plus visibilities less than a quarter mile lasting for at least three consecutive hours. We indeed verified with these conditions at the two weather stations in Bridgeport and Danbury. In Bridgeport, the blizzard lasted from 8:52AM through 12:32PM. In Danbury, it happened from 10:53AM through 3:53PM. Here's the full list of areas that also experienced a blizzard in the New York City area due to Winter Storm Grayson:
