Feeling Like Summer Start of Week; Fall Returns By The Weekend

After a hot and summer-like weekend, the warm and above average temperatures will stick around much of this week. The first half of the week will feature temperatures still in the 80's. Record highs will not be broken, but temperatures will be around ten degrees above the average high of 72 degrees. Then during the second half of the week, high temperatures will cool back down to normal into the low to mid 70's due to the passage of a cold front. It's not until the weekend when the full force of that cooler air will be felt. I'm currently forecasting highs to only be in the 60's, so break out the pumpkin spice lattes because by then it will actually feel like fall.

The cooler air will only last for a few days, because later next week the warmer temperatures are likely to return as a new ridge builds into the Eastern U.S.. The Climate Prediction Center is highlighting those above normal temperatures in their outlook for October 1st through October 7th.

It's also going to be pretty dry during the rest of September into the start of October. This weather is pretty conducive for good fall foliage conditions. The dry weather is better for the leaves to change to the beautiful, vibrant colors. The only negative are the warm temperatures. We want the cool nights!
